Aruba Golf Club
|
|
Aruba Golf Club is situated just outside San Nicolas.
The greens are Astroturf, and goats sometimes get in the way, but this odd little golf
course is a lot of fun. And the fee is only $10. Water hazards and sand traps add a
challenge to the nine-hole course, which can be played from different tees during
18-hole rounds. Golf carts and clubs are available at the pro shop, and restaurant
is open for breakfast and lunch.

Grapefield Climbing Area
|
|
Grapefield is situated on the eastern point of Aruba, near Seroe Colorado. It is reached
by taking the road to San Nicolas and then following the signs to Seroe Colorado. At the
T-crossing with a large anchor turn to the left and follow the road. You are now passing
through Grapefield and you can see Boca Grandi, the beach near Grapefield on your right.
To climb in this area you'll need extra material such as slings and carabiners to
create solid relais points. Without this equipment the tophooks are useless! If you
don't have the required material with you, contact Club Active Aruba for rental. The use of
magnesium is permitted, but seldom necessary. Climbing without guidance
by Club Active Aruba
members is at your own risk. We completely disapprove of solo climbing, as it gives
sportclimbing a bad name and might crack your skull. Just don't do it. Please see
our website for important details.

Land Sailing
|
|
Aruba Active Vacations' Land Sailing craft can reach 2 to 3 times the speed of the accompanying wind. Under normal wind conditions, land sailing can reach
up to 35 mph. Land sailing on Aruba is exciting... your ultimate fun in the sun. Land sailing is quite easy to learn. You are navigating
with your legs and you control the sail with a sheet rope. Just pull the rope to sheet in to "step on the gas" and stop pulling
the rope to sheet out and slow down. The sail is about 5 square meters in size. Just sheet in and hold on for the ride of your
life. Dare to do something you have never done before.
